Kids in the Garden Family Education Programs
Based on the the Devonian Botanic Garden's award-winning environmental education programs for school children, our Family Education Programs are designed to provide an opportunity for families to get out in nature together and learn some fun facts about the Alberta environment. Programs include hands-on, interactive activities, games for the kids, and a guided tour of the indoor showhouses, including the butterfly house. Children must have an attending guardian.
Fee: $17 adult / $8 child (includes admission to the Garden for the day)
May 26, 2013: Ponds and Frogs
Course #52DBG. An exploration of frogs, fish and fascinating wetlands insects. Bring your rubber boots!
June 22, 2013: Wildlife of Alberta
Course #59DBG. Bring the family and explore forests, hike trails, search for tracks and examine specimens with a trained naturalist.
July 21, 2013: Insects and Butterflies
Course #61DBG. Catch different types of of fascinating insects and learn about their adaptations and lifecycles - finish with a tour of the Butterfly House.

This Willow project is the perfect activity for Dad and the kids! Join Paul Dolphin, a renowned willow furniture maker, to create this rustic bird house as a family.
October 19, 2013: Halloween Nights Glass Dish
Course #77B-BSG. Work together with your little ghoul to create a whimsical Halloween dish. No previous glass experience required. Classes are held at Bissett Stained Glass in Edmonton.
