Family Education Programs


Kids in the Garden Family Education Programs

Based on the the Devonian Botanic Garden's award-winning environmental education programs for school children, our Family Education Programs are designed to provide an opportunity for families to get out in nature together and learn some fun facts about the Alberta environment. Programs include hands-on, interactive activities, games for the kids, and a guided tour of the indoor showhouses, including the butterfly house. Children must have an attending guardian. 

Fee: $17 adult / $8 child (includes admission to the Garden for the day)

May 24, 2014: Ponds and Frogs, 1-3 pm
Course #30DBG. An exploration of frogs, fish and fascinating wetlands insects. Bring your rubber boots!

June 21, 2014: Insects and Butterflies, 10 am - 12 pm
Course #37DBG. Catch different types of of fascinating insects and learn about their adaptations and lifecycles - finish with a tour of the Butterfly House.

July 20, 2014: Wildlife of Alberta, 1-3 pm
Course #41DBG. Bring the family and explore forests, hike trails, search for tracks and examine specimens with a trained naturalist.
